This medical negligence action arose out of the negligently-managed labor and delivery of the minor Plaintiffs mother, during the period March 4 to March 5, 2020, by a number of L&D nurses, a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM), and number of OB physicians at Kaiser, South Sacramento. The plaintiff is now just over 2 years of age. She remains within the Kaiser system and is seen by pediatric neurologist, Brian Masselink, MD at Kaiser Roseville. She was independently evaluated by pediatric neurologist, Candida Brown, MD, who is affiliated with Stanford (Exh 3). The plaintiff continues to suffer from seizures on the order of 3-5 per day. They are believed to be infantile spasms and are treated with a variety of drugs. Control of seizures has notbeen achieved. The plaintiff is not G-tube dependent (yet) but can only ingest pureed foods. She does not ambulate, roll, reach, or sit independently. She has poor head control and essentially does not speak. She has severe acquired microcephaly. She will never walk or talk.
